From Tallow Candle To Television

Work Zone
This is an autobiography that starts in 1856 with a boy's life in frontier Texas, including his childhood experience of the Civil War. His chore of producing candles gave the first part of this title. Stories of his education, travel to study medicine in Philadelphia in the 1870's, starting a medical career in small town Texas, becoming a newspaper editor and travelling to California as a guest of the railroad to promote development, and engaging in the national party politics of those years. Jacob Frazier keenly observed and participated in the technological advances during his years, including marvelling at an early demonstration of the infant technology of television in 1936.
Naturally he chronicles the practice and advancements in medicine he experienced.
